This first, forecasted major winter storm of the season has been a long time coming. We all, of course, have different attitudes towards the snow - you might see it as a nuisance, or you might be like Lake Effect essayist Judy Bridges, for whom the snow is not only welcome, but has effects beyond mere meteorology. Bridges is the founder of Redbird Studio writing center in Milwaukee. Semi-retired from everyday teaching, she is writing a collection of family stories, and enjoying the success of her book, Shut Up & Write!
